Today I have a few Valentine's Day polishes, and a few not Valentine's Day polishes (?), by Wonder Beauty Products! I've heard of Wonder Beauty Products, I remember looking through Jen's polishes last year right before Nerd Lacquer went MIA, but I never purchased. Here's some swatches and a review to help you make the leap I didn't! Hahaha
Here's a better shot of the colors:

1 Dozen Heart Bouquet, what a cute name! This polish is a mix of "various shades of reds, pinks, and yellows with some scatters of green, hexes and flakes with just the right touch of red and pink hearts thrown in". I like that this is Valentine's without being AHHHH VALENTINE'S ;] Plus I'm a fan of matte yellow glitter, too haha
I did 2 coats over Zoya Mira (no top coat). It was a smooth application and no need for me to dip and dab to get the glitter on. I also liked that it had a good variety of glitter every time I applied! It was a tad base-y for me, so I'd wait a bit between the 1st and 2nd+ coats or else you'll end up with some pulling - whoops! Dry time was good though :]

Yet another great V-Day glitter without being in your face happy bahahah! Roxie Heart is "silver fringe & black hearts galore, silver holographic, red flashes and hints of gunmetal residue of course". If you're confused about the "gunmetal residue of course", this polish was inspired by a musical called Roxie Heart of Chicago. If you're a fellow bar glitter lover like me, we're in luck! These bars lay flat ;]
I did 2 coats of Roxie Heart over OPI Steady As She Rose. Again, no application issues or need to dip and dab and had a good dry time. This one had the perfect amount of coverage for me, but was a still tad base-y. So, I definitely recommend waiting between 2+ coats to avoid pulling.

HOLD THE PHONE! LACEY HAS PINK POLISH ON HER NAILS THAT ISN'T IN NAIL ART. Yerp, that just happened. hahaha. Let's Play Footsie is a "hot pink based polish is super-packed with various sizes of pinks, reds, golds and silver hex glitters". It also has a jelly finish which makes a fun instant jelly sammich! This is a fun polish for sure. If you want a lighter, less hot pink color, try layering it over a lighter pink :]
I did 3 coats, no undies or coat, in my swatches. This had a good dry time for a jellyish polish, the glitter had a good coverage and application was smooth. No complaints from me here, I really liked this one.

I even have a swatch for you holo lovers out there! Blue Sterling is "the truest of blue silvers that radiates linear prismatic effects". This is a pretty dusty, grey, blue. I wouldn't say the "linearness"of this holo is super duper strong, I feel it leans more toward a scattered holo... but, it's still a nice holo in a pretty color.
It was good to go, no visible nail, in 2 coats. It had a smooth application and an awesome dry time. I love the uniquness of the color of this polish!

I did 3 coats of Kismet, no top coat or undies. It had a smooth application and gave me no issues. This one you might want to wait a little bit in between coats to ensure it dries entirely. I totally see me wearing this more often :]
Like I had said before, back in March 2012 I had considered buying these polishes. I was always hesitant because I was new to indies. Down the line, I was still hesitant because I was told by people not to buy because of bad formulas. To be honest? I didn't have any issues with these and they are just as great as any Indies I've reviewed on my blog or have in my collection. I talked to a friend who had purchased awhile ago and more recently. She told me that the formulas of these polishes have improved greatly over the past year. Which is GREAT to hear because she has some awesome looking polish mixes!
Also, I'd like to mention the smell of these pretties. I think it might be just me? Maybe it's my sinuses out of whack or being overly sensative? haha For some reason these smelled kind of strong to me, more than usual Indies. They had a slight, what I called "salon smell" - acrylic smelling. I think it's just me and my messed up nose haha but I felt I must mention it for the sake of me being honest always.
Talk to you laters!
It's not your nose, I can almost guarantee it's the base. I ordered some base in a pinch from a company I'd never tried before, and that is EXACTLY how I described the smell this base had.
ReplyDeleteI'm just now seeing this, good to know it's not just me LOL!
