MAKEUP YOUR FACE: Review & Swatches - Girls Rule, Girls Rock Your Boys & Boys Drool

Today I have swatches of new polishes by Makeup Your Face!

Makeup Your Face (L->R) Girls Rule, Girls Rock Your Boys, Boys Drool

Makeup Your Face started out by making and selling mineral makeup but now is branching out into selling handmixed polishes! Today I have swatches of just 3 of the many polishes she has up for sale!

Jump over for swatches and review :]

How cute are those names?! Oh and every polish you order from her will come with the cute little bow and "hand made with love" charm seen on Girls Rock Your Boys! Here are some bottle shots of the 3 polishes I'll be swatching up for you guys today!

How much fun are those mixes?! Onto the swatchfest! I'll go in the order above so here is Girls Rule!

Girls Rule is described by Makeup Your Face as "large matte blue, pink, & purple hexagons with smaller silver hexagons and pink micro glitter in a clear base". I did 3 coats over Zoya Regan and 1 coat of Seche Vite. The formula was a little base-y but not too difficult to work with. I haven't ever used a polish with those semi sheer matte glitters before! I think they're super cool, I really like how they're mixed with the regular shiny glitter. Sorry the pink matte hex is a liiiittteee hard to see, but they're there (top finger in the close up)!

Next is Girls Rock Your Boys:

"Come on feel the noise... Girls rock your boys!" Twisted Sister, heck yes! This one is my favorite out of the trio I'm reviewing today. I was kind of surprised it was! This isn't the most unique out of the 3 but I LOVE how this covers and sparkles! Makeup Your Face describes Girls Rock Your Boys as "blue, pink, & purple micro-fine glitter as well as blue, pink, & purple holographic glitters". I did ONE COAT over Barielle Grape Escape. If you wanted to wear this on it's own you could probably get away with 2 coats! This is a very dense glitter with an AWESOME application! I'm used to micro-fine glitters like this to be lumpy, but this was smooth as butter to apply. I did 1 coat of Seche Vite but after awhile it was thirsty for a 2nd coat.

Last but not least is Boys Drool!

Boys Drool is kind of the same idea as Girls Rule but the BLUE version, with some different glitter.  It's described as "large shiny light blue & pink hexagons with smaller blue hexagons and blue micro glitter in a clear base" by Makeup Your Face. I did 2 coats of Boys Drool over Sinful Color Savage (which you NEED a base coat with Savage, it stains SOOO bad). The application of Boys Drool was less base-y than it's pink counter part and needed 2 coats VS the 3. I really like the large hex in this polish! So pretty! This is my 2nd fave :]

I have high hopes for this new indie brand after reviewing these polishes! It's always refreshing to see new polish ideas that haven't been multiplied before!

  1. LOL I love how those three blue glitters in Girls Rule lined themselves up on your nail. That alone makes that one my favorite of the three. XD
