10/31 Go Pink Wednesday: Pink Gradient Nails

NOOOOO! It's our last Go Pink Wednesday together :[ As much as I hate pink haha, this was a fun project to do and I hope we did something good in our little (not so little) community or beyond!

A final thank you to Andrea of Finger Painting Fingers for putting together Go Pink Wednesday! I'm glad I was asked to participate these past 5 weeks. It's fun seeing what the other bloggers came up with :]

If you followed my Go Pink Wednesday posts (If you haven't, check them out here!). As I do every Go Pink Wednesday post, breast cancer facts. Since this is the last post and all my facts have been mainly about women, these facts will be about the men. Although mens' risk for breast cancer is quite low, it is very possible. You must read themmmmmmm or else I'll come find you and MAKE you read them! ;]

10/24 Go Pink Wednesday: Big or Small, Let's Save Them All!

Awww Go Pink Wednesday is almost over! One more post after this and the month is over! But, of course that doesn't mean stop spreading awareness of breast cancer and taking care of yourself!

Another thanks to Finger Painting Fingers for organizing a way for nail bloggers to spread awareness! I think your efforts, along with efforts put forward by other bloggers really did reached people! I hope this coming together of bloggers sparks more organized monthly awareness posts like these!

I interact a lot on my Facebook page. I post deals, coupons and other stuff I find that would be of interest to anyone who likes nail polish (or discounts!).

It has come to my attention Facebook is making it harder and harder for pages to interact with their fans, unless we pay for our posts (not happening).

Can you follow your favorite pages and make sure you're not missing out on the action?! Make sure you're on a computer when you do these steps (or you're viewing the full site on your mobile phone:

1) Go to my Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/laceandlacquers
2) Go to the right hand side of the page, across from the page name under the cover photo.
3) Click on the "liked" button, or the setting's gear, then click on "add to interest list"
4) To view your interest list, go to your Facebook homepage and you can find the list on the left hand side of the menu under "INTERESTS". Do this for any pages or friends that you don't want to miss out on posts on!

Domestic Violence Awareness - "Break Silence" Stamping Manicure

Lazy Sunday for me! Hope your weekend went well :)

October, October. A month of Halloween and best known for breast cancer awareness month. Often, because those are so widely known, other awarenesses that share October are overlooked. You can find a list of awareness months here.

The ones, besides breast cancer awareness, that stand out to me the most for October are Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, Infant Loss Awareness, Bully Prevention and Domestic Violence Awareness.

So, today's "the list" manicure is inspired by Domestic Violence Awareness in October.


Like my Go Pink Monday posts, I present you with facts:

1) "Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the United States, more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined". Source

As you may (or may not) know a group of bloggers have come together to dedicate our Wednesday posts in October to breast cancer awareness. Despite pink being my least favorite color haha, I am all for spreading awareness and support for breast cancer. Thanks to Finger Painting Fingers for forming a great way for the nail polish community to spread awareness!


I'm going to have 3 facts about breast cancer in every Go Pink Wednesday post. Here are October 3rd's facts:
1) "Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women". National Breast Cancer
2) "Only 5% to 10% of breast cancers occur in women with a defined genetic predisposition for the disease. The majority of breast cancer cases are "sporadic," meaning there is no direct family history of the disease". Web MD
3) "The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2012, about 226,870 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer". Web MD
