The Zoya Holiday 2012 Ornate Collection
Jump over, I have swatches and such for you guys!
Are you ready for this!? I know I am :] A heads up, no top coat was used in these swatches.
Here are the first 3 bottle shots:
L->R Zoya Storm, Blaze and Aurora
First up is Storm, here we go!:
Zoya Storm
Zoya Storm
Zoya Storm
Zoya Storm with matte top coat
Storm, the one I was least excited for quickly became a favorite. I am not a fan of black polish, I think you guys know that by now haha, but this is a great glitzy alternative to solid black. Storm is described as "full coverage, holiday black with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter". I did 2 coats of Storm, above. I had no issues with application or dry time. I really like the look of this polish, it kind of reminds me of a night sky! But, if you add a matte top coat it changes to look, almost a stone-like look. Kinda cool :]
Zoya Blaze

Zoya Blaze
Blaze reminds me of the deep pink version of Storm. They both have the same glitter look to them. Blaze is described as "a full coverage, cool-toned medium mulberry red with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter". This is a VERY pretty color, even my husband thought so haha! I did 2 coats of Blaze, a very smooth formula and dries decently fast. Again, no complaints.
Zoya Aurora

Zoya Aurora
Oh, Aurora! HOW gorgeous are you! This is a suped up version of Blaze and Storm in the glitter department. I think this is my favorite out of the first 3, it's so pretty I was happy to stare at my nails for a bit ;] Aurora is described as "a full coverage, medium sugarplum purple flecked with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter". This one was 3 coats and it had just as good of an application and dry time as Storm and Blaze.
What I really liked about the first three I just reviewed is that it wasn't super hard to remove these polishes like glitter polishes are. I was really impressed how easy they were to remove! It was almost like there wasn't any glitter at all. I've removed other micro fine glitters and have had issues with removal but, not a bit of trouble with these! So for a super glitter look without the removal work, I recommend Aurora, Blaze or Storm.
Here's a quick comparison to Zoya Nova and Astra, which I know there was a bit of a question if they were similar.
L->R Zoya Aurora, Nova, Blaze, Astra
I can tell you from past experience with Nova and Astra, the glitter is different than in Blaze and Aurora. In Blaze and Aurora it's more fine. I don't have any swatches but I used Nova in my Zoya Gloss swatches if you'd like to look :]
Onto the next three!
L->R: Zoya Electra, Ziv and Logan
Here's Electra and the gang:
Zoya Electra over Zoya Storm
Zoya Electra over Aurora (top) and Blaze (bottom)
Zoya Electra over Logan (top) and Ziv (bottom)
It's not holiday with an awesome glitter! I know not everyone is a fan of bar glitter, I am! :] Zoya describes Electra as "a micro fine diamond holographic glitter mixed with large silver holographic bar tinsel in a clear base". This isn't your typical bar glitter, ladies. This is a finer bar glitter, tinsel. And the thing about this I love the most is that it LIES FLAT! No sticking up edges or anything, that made me happy. A thinner top coat and you would be good to go!
Above, I did 1 coat over each nail. It was a little annoying I couldn't get a consistent amount of glitter coverage (ex: over Storm swatch). I don't think it would be too hard to make this opaque on the nail, Electra is pretty packed with glitter! The base also dries pretty darn fast, thought I needed to mention that.
Zoya Ziv
Zoya Ziv
Zoya Ziv
Ziv is the polish I was most surprised by in this collection. "Oh, another gold" was my first thought, Ziv is much more than JUST a gold polish. Zoya describes it as "a full coverage, yellow-toned metallic gold foil with silver highlights and warm gold flake glitter accents". AHHH perfect for the holidays! Such glitzy and flakie prettiness! I did 2 coats of Ziv without a problem, dried just as well as the others. Oh, does this remind anyone of gold chocolate Easter eggs or... is it just me? :P
Zoya Logan
Zoya Logan
Zoya Logan
Anddddd finally, last but NOT least, Logan! This is what I was looking forward to the most. Logan is "a full coverage, yellow-toned forest green with dense, foil-like yellow-gold and blue-green duochrome shimmer". Mind. Blown. Another 2 coater with great dry time. I'm a sucker for greens and this one takes the cake with it's foil finish and duochrome shimmer! I have a feeling I'll be wearing this quite a bit ;]
A side note, I will have a comparison in the future but I figured I'd mention it while people are holiday collection shopping. Logan and Color Club Ho-Ho-Holly are verrrryyy similar, there is a slight difference in finish. But, if you have one your probably don't need the other. :]
You can find Zoya's Ornate Collection on Zoya's website, here. You can buy the full collection for $48 or individual bottles for $8. If buying online isn't your thing, keep an eye out at your local Ulta stores!
I hope you enjoyed this super packed post! ;]
Talk to you later!
I love storm and aurora!
