I think we're all aware that November is also known as Movember. If you're not familiar with Movember, it's "
an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancer and associated charities".

I was asked by Melissa, over at
Missy's Manis, to participate in a post dedicated to raise awareness for prostate cancer. I knew I couldn't pass this up! Much like Melissa's dad, my dad is also a prostate cancer survivor (HI DAD! He reads my blog quite often haha). I can't image how scary having cancer is but, I do know how scary it was for me when I learned my dad had cancer. So this manicure is dedicated to my dad, other survivors and those who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
I Googled the "color of prostate cancer" since I honestly didn't know. The color for prostate cancer is light blue (you can
check here if you want to be more
exact haha). Makes sense to me! So I grabbed a light blue polish and went on my way to a prostate cancer themed manicure!
In addition, if you kept up with Go Pink Wednesday for breast cancer awareness... you know that I posted 3 facts related to breast cancer. Welp, this is going to be the same dealio!
1) "
The most common cancer in men, no matter your race or ethnicity".
Source
2) "
The risk of developing prostate cancer increases after the age of 50 years. Majority of prostate cancer are diagnosed in men over 65 years".
Source
3) "
Prostate cancer that is localized in the prostate usually is curable, but once the cancer has spread to lymph nodes, bones or other sites, it no longer is curable".

Prostate cancer is very much like any other cancer, the more aware you are of what is going on with your body the more likely you are able to detect it early. Screenings and check ups are the key!
Jump over, I have more pictures of the manicure and a mustache tutorial :P
