DIFFERENT DIMENSION: Holiday Polishes

Hope everyone is having an awesome Saturday - doing whatever you're doing! ;] We've just been hanging out around the house all day haha

Today I have 3 polishes out of the 8 polishes from Different Dimension's Santa Baby Holiday Collection. PLUS an additional holiday related polish that all  who celebrate different winter holidays can wear!  Swatches and such after the jump!

Here are close ups of the 4 I am reviewing for you today:

TOP L->R: Hurry Down the Chimney Tonight, I've Been an Awful Good Girl
BOTTOM L->R: Christmahanakwanzika, Think of All the Fellas That I Haven't Kissed

First up is Hurry Down the Chimney Tonight:

Can't get more Christmas than a candy cane colored polish! ...Well, I guess you can with green and red LOL But this is pretty darn Christmas-y to me ;] Missy describes Hurry Down the Chimney Tonight as "a jumble of asymmetrical red and white glitters. Looks amazing over any color!" WEEEEEEEEE!

I did 2 coats of HDCT over Sinful Colors Innocent, a Chartreuse green. I really like how Innocent goes with HDCT and allows it to pop while still looking holiday. The mix of glitter is red and white shards and bar glitter. It had a great cover and smooth application. I would mind the dry time when layering over a color or itself to avoid sliding around.

This surprisingly was my favorite out of the 4 I was sent. WHAT?! LACEY LIKES A PINK COLORED POLISH!? Hold your horses! This is a white based glitter ;] Which surprisingly I DO like THIS white based glitter. While a lot of people love white based glitters, I feel burnt out on them >.< Don't shoot me! Haha WHY do I love this white based glitter? I'll let the description tell you: "white base with pink(ish) shimmer and different sized pink and purple glitters throughout in different sizes". The pink shimmer really makes this polish for me. UGH love it so much.

This was 2 coats and no undies. It was a lot more opaque than I was expecting, no complaints. This had a great application, great glitter coverage and great drying time. No complaints on this one. I like how this one could be worn any time of the year, too. It kind of makes me think of sugar plums! ... well whatever the crap those are! BUT when I think of sugar plums or, see sugarplum scent things this is usually the colors I see... Don't laugh at me hahah

My second favorite is Christmahanakwanzika:

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this holiday glitter! This polish was an ode to "the 3 most popular winter Holidays! Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa"‎. I think it portrays then quite well! Green, red, blue, yellow, black, gold - are the colors you will find in this holiday mix.

I did 2 coats over Essie Aruba Blue. Can I just say, this is an amazing combo? This an amazing combo. Eees so pretty! :] This had a great amount of glitter with good cover, great glitter mix, great application and good dry time.

Last but not least, Think of All the Fellas That I Haven't Kissed:

I thought it was cute that this Think of All the Fellas That I Haven't Kissed was inspired by Missy's Christmas tree. I can only imagine how pretty that tree is if it looks anything like this glitter! TAFTIHK is described as "rich purples, blues and teals in a clear base. Buildable in 3 coats, but looks amazing as a topper!" It's so sparkly in real life, it really makes me think of ornaments.

I entirely agree that this could totally cover in 3 coats. In my swatches, I only used one coat over Zoya Monica. I love how these 2 look together :] This had a great application, perfect cover, and good dry time. Another great, all year polish!

I was pretty impressed with all of these. I had not tried Different Dimension polishes beforehand, so it was a great surprise how nice these were!

  1. Ooh, *beautiful* pairing for All The Fellas! Christmahanakwanzika (which only took me 2 tries to spell right, hee!) is such a gorgeous riot of colour, and I'm just kicking myself for not getting Awful Good Girl in my last order--it's such a beauty! It is more "girly" than I usually lean towards, but she really got the balance just right with it. ♥

  2. I almost fell over at the "I love pink" situation. Then I finally did fall over with the "I love the white based polish" situation lol!

  3. Very festive! But not too holiday-specific. Very nice. :)
