L->R: Makeup Your Face Entice Mint, Ornaments Wreaths & Christmas Treats, and Winter's First Frost
The one thing that has impresses me about Indie polishes, especially holiday polishes, is that they all can be similar yet look entirely different. I love it!
Here's the bottle shot of the 3 I have for you today!
Top: Winter's First Frost, Left: Entice Mint Right: Ornaments, Wreaths & Christmas Treats
Enjoy the swatches!

SQUARES! AND IRIDESCENT PRETTINESS! :D They make my heart happy lol. Entice Mint is "reminiscent of a crushed candy cane with white & red glitter in squares & hexes with a hint of snowy iridescent glitter". The perfect holiday polish.
I did 1 coat of Entice Mint over Sinful Colors Envy. No application issues, no need to dip and dab and it dried pretty fast. I would recommend a thicker top coat or 2 layers of a thinner top coat.
Next is Ornaments, Wreaths and Christmas Treats:
This is super glitzy, and it lives up to it's name. OW&CT is "scattered full or red, green, and gold glitter in a variety of sizes". I love the large holo gold hex, I think it's my favorite part!
I did 2 coats of OW&CT over Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold. I layered it over a gold to bring out the gold glitter, you can do the same with a red or green polish to enhance those colors more. Again, no application issues, good dry time, and no dipping and dabbing. Again, I'd go with a thicker top coat or 2+ thinner top coat. I used 1 coat of Butter London Hardwear, I think it would of been alright with 2.
Next is Winter's First Frost:

Winter's First Frost contains holo silver micro glitter, silver shards, diamonds and hex, white hex, bar and shards all in a clear base. A very winter inspired polish!
I did 2 coats over Essie Aruba Blue, I love how it popped against the blue color. WFF had great application, no dip and dabbing, and dried decently quick. I'd go for a thicker top coat, mostly because of the bar glitter but, it wasn't too bad with a thin one.
You can only own Winter's First Frost if you purchase the full Holiday 2012 set by Makeup Your Face. You will get 4 polishes plus a mini of WFF and free shipping!
I'm off to make dinner! BLAHHH
I have to agree, not my favorite "holiday season". It's not even winter until December 21/22!! -_- Maybe if you put off swatching these 'til December you can remain strong? LOL They are pretty awesome glitters, though....
ReplyDeleteI LOVE holiday collections. Our tree will be put out on Black Friday, but I am still excited to see all the red and green glitters. My fave is the Winter's First Frost. We had our first frost over a month ago.
ReplyDeleteCute polishes!
ReplyDeleteThose all look so pretty on you! I love the color combos you chose.
