BEAUTY STOP ONLINE: China Glaze (Sea Spray, Secret Peri-Winkle, and Recycle) & Essie (Armed and Ready) Review

Pin It I think this is the latest I've ever posted! LOL OOPS!

China Glaze Sea Spray, Secret Peri-Wink-Le, Recycle and
Essie Armed and Ready

I was contacted by Beauty Stop Online to review a few polishes for them. If you haven't heard of Beauty Stop Online, they are an e-tailer who sells polishes - and at pretty good prices if you ask me! They offer about 12 pages of China Glaze, Orly, Essie, and CND polishes. In addition, they also offer other nail products and tools.

Jump over and I'll have more information about BSO and swatch/review of the above polishes.

China Glaze Sea Spray

China Glaze Sea Spray

First up is China Glaze Sea Spray, I've been lemming this polish for awhile now - can you see why?! Sea Spray is a dusty, light blue-grey creme. It also has some awesome silver micro-shimmer, I couldn't get a good shot of it sadly. I did 2 coats, no issues :]

Next is Secret Peri-Wink-Le, another lemming of mine. Such a stunning color! Secret Peri-Wink-Le is a great, periwinkle, blue creme. I can see myself using this color for a LOT of undies! This was again, 2 coats and a great formula. I think this was my favorite out of the polishes I was sent to review :]

China Glaze Recycle

China Glaze Recycle

Last of the China Glazes I'm reviewing is, Recycle. Recycle is a true, medium grey creme. This is a great basic color to have in your collection. I have many greys, but I'd have to say they're all darker or lighter - this one hits the spot! This one was also 2 coats, with a great formula :]

I never have issues with China Glaze polishes. Sometimes there's drying issues with a few, but I didn't have any with these. They all 3 applied very well and dried in good time. I got bored while swatching, I ended up grabbing a makeup sponge and did a gradient of the 3 colors:

Beauty Stop Online sells China Glaze polishes starting at only $3.99. They also offer a few displays.

Next is the Essie.

Can we take a moment and appreciate that shimmahhhh?!

Where did the shimmer go? It's still in the bottle that's where haha. Sadly it doesn't transfer as obvious on the nail, it's there but VERY faint. This is Essie Armed and Ready, it is a deep grey creme with some green. It's lucky it's a gorgeous color or I'd be SUPER sad about the shimmer. JK still sad haha. I feel this had a better formula for an Essie creme polish than most of the ones I own. Maybe because it's darker? Not sure. It did dry better though! I did 3 coats of Armed and Ready, but I could of got away with 2.

I wondered if making Armed and Ready matte would pull some of that shimmer out:

(with matte top coat and Julep Vivien)

A LIIIIIIIIITTTLLLE bit better, but still not what I want haha. Like I said, it's lucky it's a great color! I added Julep Vivien as accents, just for fun :] You can find Essie on Beauty Stop Online starting at $5.99.

If you shop at  Beauty Stop Online, you can get free shipping at $59, or the flat rate shipping under $59 is $8.99. If you're looking for newer collections, I'm not so sure this is the place to look. If you're looking for more core colors, you can find them here for great prices!

Good night :]

  1. I love those China Glazes! I'll have to stop by that online store and see what other colors they have.

  2. Nice swatches, and I love that gradient. BSO does have good prices on Essie, which is good because the whole reason I don't own many Essies is that the $8 is too high for them, IMO. $6 is a really good price!
