Today I'm reviewing the 2nd part of the Pure Ice polishes I was sent. If you missed Part I, you can find it, here! Again, some of these polishes were Limited Editions and now have been added to their permanent line under new names or there are similar ones that replaced them! You can find the entire list of replacements and new polishes for 2013, here.
Swatches and such after the jump!
Here are the 6 polishes that I will be reviewing for this post:
Left (T->B): Material Girl, My Wonderland and Party of Five
Right (T->B): Viva Las Vegas, On His Saddle, Not Now
Here we go! All swatches are without top coat.
Pure Ice Viva Las Vegas
Pure Ice Viva Las Vegas
Pure Ice Viva Las Vegas
I can't decide if I like this or not. It's a pretty polish, but I'm just not sure haha. Viva Las Vegas is described as a "light gold chrome". I don't find it as gold as the description makes it sound lol. I saw someone mention that it looks kind of like China Glaze Fast Track, I'm going to say close but no cigar. I do really enjoy this color though. I did 2 coats of Viva Las Vegas. No issues, everything was fab.
Unfortunately, this was one of the Limited Edition polishes from the Holidays. You might be able to still find it though! It's from the Metro Chic collex.
Here's what I decided to pair it with:
Pure Ice Party of Five over Viva Las Vegas
Pure Ice Party of Five over Viva Las Vegas
Pure Ice Party of Five over Viva Las Vegas
I really like these two together! Then again, I'm a big fan of anything with turquoise haha. Party of Five is just that, turquoise micro glitter and turquoise diamonds. The Pure Ice description says "green" glitter and "green" "shards", I don't see either being true hahaha. Or maybe it's just me when I think of "shards" I think of actual shard glitter, not diamonds. I digress, this is a pretty polish and I really enjoyed seeing a mainstream brand use the diamond glitter! I did 2 coats over Viva Las Vegas, no issues with this one either! I didn't have to dig for the diamonds, which is always great.
This was also one that was Limited Edition and isn't being brought back for 2013, sad (and kind of surprising!).
Next:
Pure Ice On His Saddle
Pure Ice On His Saddle
Pure Ice On His Saddle
Out of the 6 today, this one was my favorite! On His Saddle is a "bright pearl aquamarine blue". This polish is simply stunning. Do you see how it reflects light? I was worried about this color. Most polishes I've encountered of this color are thin and require a ton of coats. Not this one! 2 coats and everything was good to go.
I believe this is part of the permanent collection? It wasn't on the LE list, colors list, or their list of colors for 2013. Don't quote me on that though haha. This one is TOTALLY worth finding though!
I paired it with this glitter:
Pure Ice My Wonderland over On His Saddle
Pure Ice My Wonderland over On His Saddle
Pure Ice My Wonderland over On His Saddle
This was probably my least favorite. ONLY because I feel like this glitter and color combo has been done a million times before. It happens haha it's still pretty! My Wonderland is described as a "ultrafine turquoise and green glitter" but I'm confused... because I see magenta lmao. SOOO I'm going to say totally ignore that description by Pure Ice, this is a magenta and turquoise microglitter glitter. This was 2 coats of My Wonderland over On His Saddle. No issues!
Again, I'm not sure where or what collection this polish comes from. BUT, this one is being renamed/brought back for 2013. So, you can find My Wonderland under the new name Watch Me Go this year.
Last, but not least:
Pure Ice Not Now
Pure Ice Not Now
Pure Ice Not Now
"Not Now" - Said the duochrome in Pure Ice Not Now *quiet sobs*. I don't know if you can see in the bottle, but there is a purple duochrome to it... which does not come across on the nail. Woe is me, story of my life. Pure Ice is lucky I love green colors like this or I'd be super annoyed :P Here is your Pantone 2013 Color of the Year - an emerald green polish. This also has a pearl finish, not as apparent as the one in On His Saddle Though. I was pleased that when this dried the brush strokes disappeared, it had me worried!
Not Now is not a Limited Edition or a re-released polish. It is part of their permanent colors already on the shelves!
Here's what I paired with the undies!
Pure Ice Material Girl over Not Now
Pure Ice Material Girl over Not Now
Pure Ice Material Girl over Not Now
Reminds me of watermelon! Hahaha Pure Ice Material Girl is a clear polish with pink diamonds, silver holo diamonds and 2 different sized pink glitter. Again, Pure Ice refers to the diamonds as "shards". I really like these shard glitters they released, more than I thought I would. I saw them at the store and skipped over them! Oops haha, we've all done it! I did 2 coats of Material Girl over Not Now. No issues with this glitter or drying. Everything was great!
Material Girl was part of their Limited Edition Diamond Couture Collection, but for 2013 it is being re-released under the name Come Closer. I liked Material Girl better haha.
Overall, I enjoyed these polishes and their colors. The formulas were great and so was the try time. No complaints from me here! Again, if you missed Part I of my review, here's the link.
Have a great Friday!
