Barielle 60 Second Mani-Pedi, Nail Strenghtening Cream, and Ultra Speed Dry Manicure Extender Quick Drying Top Coat |
Hi guys! Today I'm reviewing a few nail care items from Barielle. I've been using these over the last month and a half to see how well they worked and to determine if I enjoyed them. Continue reading on about each of the items in the photo!
Barielle 60 Second Mani-Pedi MSRP $25.00
I'm always on the market for a new scrub! I have sensitive skin on my hands and feet due to my eczema. Sometimes when I use a scrub it'll cause a flare up or sores (sorry lol). So I'm always looking for options! This 60 Second Mani-Pedi exfoliating scrub uses Dead Sea salts along with grape seed, avocado and soy bean oil to smooth, nourish and moisturize skin and nails.
There was no particular smell to this scrub, which isn't an issue for me. It just smells like a combo of oils. It was very exfoliating without being too rough. I did notice it stung a little bit, but I guess that's what happens when you rub salt into your skin lmao. My hands felt soft and smooth and my cuticles looked refreshed and clean! I really liked the scrub's effects on my skin.
My only issue with it was the color of the scrub. It may because I have super, dry skin to the point where areas (especially in the creases) on my hands are dry and white. Anyways, I noticed the orange color really stuck for about 2 days to those areas... almost looking like I had put on tanner haha. Besides that I really enjoyed it!
Barielle Nail Strengthener Cream MSRP $10.00
Nail strengthening products are also items I don't mind giving a go around. I currently use Duri Rejuvacote to strengthen my nails. It's always on my nails, polished or not. I put my Rejuvacote aside to give Barielle's Nail Strengthener Cream for about a month.
The Nail Strengthening Cream is an every day nail care solution to help "nails resist splits, peels, and breaks". It says there are noticeable improvements in 3-4 weeks. I applied this in place of my cuticle balm 2-3x a day. It was also a pretty nice moisturizing agent for my cuticles, which made me easy to use it more often. Sadly, after a month I didn't see any changes in my nails (or continuation I guess?). I had to give up using it because my nails were breaking more than usual since I stopped using Rejuvacoat. I can't afford that!
So, I'm not sure if this product worked efficiently for me - then again not ever item works the same for everyone. After a month I couldn't risk tending to anymore breaks and discontinued use. If you are in the market for a nail strengthening cream and you don't already have a strengthening solution, this could be a good option considering it isn't a bad price. I have heard/read good things about this product, I just can't wait that long for results :(
Barielle Ultra Speed Dry Manicure Extender Quick Drying Top Coat MSRP $16.00
Barielle's Quick Drying Top Coat is more than your typical top coat. It is a quick drying top coat with UV protection and it keeps dark colors from fading and lighter colors from yellowing. I was honestly interested in trying this out but every time I picked it up to use it I ended up with smearing and brush stroke marks in the polish I layered it over. Yes, the polish under was dry. I tried it over Barielle Shades Nail Color and other brands and I kept getting the same results without fail :[ Because of this I got super SUPER frustrated (who wouldn't after spending time painting their nails?) and never got the chance to test the wear of this top coat. I think this is just another product that doesn't agree with me!
I hope you enjoyed my review of something nail related other than polish, maybe you found a new product to try! If you go to Barielle's homepage and scroll to the bottom, you can sign up for their email updates. They often send out high percentage off coupon codes, free shipping codes and free item codes. Their emails are ones you don't want to miss!
Happy Hump Day!
