PACIFICA: Unicorn Horn

Pacifica Unicorn Horn

I was contacted by Pacifica, a new to me brand, to give their polish a try - and I said SURE! (obviously). I've never tried a 7 Free polish, free of "phthalates, toluene, xylene, parabens, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and animals" according to their website. This brand is also cruelty free and vegan friendly. Check out Pacifica's nail polish, Unicorn Horn, after the jump!

Unicorn Horn is a sheer, pearly, white polish with pink flashes. It reminds me of a toned down version of Essie's Kisses and Bisses. Wearing it alone provides quite a challenge, unless you're into the sheer look. But it can transform some of your favorite colors into softer versions of themselves (did that make sense? LOL it did in my head). This isn't a polish I'd buy on my own, but I look forward to playing with it over different colors.

I did 4 coats of Unicorn Horn alone and 2 coats over Zoya Jacqueline, a similar base color. The application was smooth and easy to work with. Dry time was great; however, if you are planning to build up Unicorn Horn I suggest waiting between coats to ensure a dry mani. Besides that, no issues with this polish!

I'd really like to try more of this brand, like... actual colors LOL xP I have my eye on Nirvana Nirvana, Abalone, Drift, Psychedelic Jungle. One day, one day!

Do you think YOU would try this brand? Always nice to add a cruelty free polish brand to the list :]

See ya!

  1. Id like to see it over a dark green or a black. I think it would really pop! Interesting color though for sure.

    1. I'll have to reswatch! My skin was over swatching by the time I got to the layering hahah. Idk if it would make the darker color milky/cloudy? Y'know? Guess well see!

  2. I'd like to know how well it wears before I buy some. I'll keep reading reviews and seeing if any report on that, if they wear it long enough. :) I know it's hard for bloggers to wear test sometimes, if they're doing lots of swatching.

  3. I'm not sure if my last comment posted b/c I wasn't signed in to Google, but I just want to let everyone know that the Pacifica nail polish wears wonderfully! I have MANY colors (at least 12 now), and each one I've used goes on like a dream and never chips - even when I accidentally stub my toes. The last color I wore (Nirvana - my favorite!) lasted about 3 weeks before I decided to remove it to let my nails breathe. No chips, no fading, and, unlike when I use OPI, my nails look healthy. OPI tends to make my nails look damaged once removed. I use a more natural acetone-free remover from Earth Fare, and, while it takes some time to remove the polish, it does all come off nicely. I love Pacifica nail polish and will never go back to the ones with heavy chemicals! : )
