Killer Queen Varnish (L->R) Midnight at the Oasis, La Vie en Rose,
Bang Bang and Life on Mars |
Yesterday, I had a brief Starbucks date with someone who's been reading my blog for a few years now! She contact me because she just released her polish brand, Killer Queen Varnish, and had some goodies for me to swatch. Let me show you a few after the jump!

Midnight at the Oasis is a "
black jelly polished packed with micro gold hexes, small gold square
glitter, larger gold hexes and topped off with a gold shimmer". This is my favorite of the bunch. Somethin' about deep, dark bases with awesome, sparkly glitter shining through gets to me every time and this one is no exception. A very nice jelly polish!
I did 2 coats of Midnight at the Oasis. Application was easy to work with, smooth, and no problems. Dry time gave me no issues, which is great for a jelly!

Next, is La Vie en Rose: "
rose colored hexes and rose-purple flakies". I honestly didn't think I'd like this one but it's one of those polishes you can stick over different bases and get different looks from. It's soft and pretty, I like.
I did 1 coat of La Vie en Rose over Zoya Odette. Application wasn't an issue and it covered great in 1 coat! No issue in the dry time department.

Bang Bang is a "
small black skull glitter, white triangle glitter, gold square glitter and black holo dots" mix. I think this mix is fun and punky! I can see this over tons of colors. I was excited to see the triangles in there, too :P
I did 2 coats over Rainbow Honey Work It Out. The application was a little thick for my taste, which created tiny bubbles. I'll probably add my own thinner next time. The skulls weren't too difficult to get out but I did place them on my nail. No issue with dry time despite the thicker formula.

Last but not least is Life on Mars. It's a "
glitter topper packed with small red hexes, gold square glitter and larger gold hexes". Oh yes please, look at that iridescent awesomeness. Another polish that would look great over any color! This mix is pretty cool looking, I must say. Simple, but still fun.
I did 1 coat over Life on Mars over Sinful Colors Beau Khaki. I had no issues with application, but it was a little on the thick side. However, it wasn't as thick as Bang Bang and it allowed for a nicely packed 1 coat. I may add thinner, not sure. Dry time was without issues.
I have a few more polishes to show you, but I'm savin' those for next week. What do you think about these 4?! These are now available to purchase in her Etsy shop - she just opened up this week!
Have a good one!

Gorgeous! The skull glitter is pretty cool!
