WET N WILD: Summer 2015 Limited Edition California Dreaming Collection [Re: In Carnation, Sun Settle Down, Bee-U-Tiful, Green Tease, & Sky Me Mine]

Wet n Wild Summer 2015 Limited Edition California Dreaming Collection
(L->R) Re: In Carnation, Sun Settle Down, Bee-U-Tiful,
Green Tease, and Sky Me Mine

If you're reading this that means I successfully scheduled a blog post LOL. It's that time of year again, the Summer 2015 Wet n Wild Megalast LE Collection is here! I feel like this collection came early, last year I reviewed their Summer Collection in August... and less than a month ago I reviewed the Spring Collection. These are some of my favorite drugstore polishes. I can't wait to share them with you!

Note: For some reason these are $1 more than the usual LE Megalasts - $2.99. (If you are purchasing, be aware on the display it says $1 off items $2.99 or more. I trusted that the $1 would be taken off - it wasn't! So just watch your total!)

When I looked at my receipt they mention "gel" followed by the polish's name. Wondering if that's the cause of the $1 jump. No where on the bottle or on the display do they say anything about gel LOL So I'm not sure what's going on with that... they applied and look like every other Megalast I've used previously...
Wet n Wild Megalast Re: In Carnation

First up is Re: In Carnation, kind of loving that name haha. This is a bubblegum pink creme. I feel like I've seen so much of this color in my swatching lifetime that I don't even hate it anymore LOL. I also feel like this color looks great on almost everyone (although I can't match foundation to my face, so don't listen to me).

I did 2 coats of Re: In Carnation. It had a nice, opaque formula that was easy to work with. The dry time was great. Can't complain about this one.

Wet n Wild Megalast Sun Settle Down

Sun Settle Down is an orange creme polish that reminds me both of a Creamsicle and Kraft Mac and Cheese at the same time, but not as bright... Mostly this shade of orange reminds me of artificial orange food coloring? LOL I usually really dig orange polishes, but I hate this one on me. This one will probably be a nail art polish for me, or stamped over... I just can't wear it plain haha.

I did 3 coats of Sun Settle Down. It had a nice application. The formula was easy to work with and built up nicely. No problems in the dry time department.

I must say, I didn't like cleaning this one up. I swatched it twice because when I cleaned my cuticles with my brush it kept staining them light orange... Not enough to be noticeable in person... but enough to be noticeable if you're photographing your nails lol.

Wet n Wild Megalast Bee-U-Tiful

Bee-U-Tiful is a buttery light yellow creme. This is such a cheery polish! It's soft but bright and happy at the same time. Also reminds me of tree pollen all over my car... but in a good way? LOL I'm on a roll with these descriptions.

I did 3 coats of Bee-U-Tiful. I'm a big fan of yellow polishes of all shades. If you are too, you know their formulas can be a hit or miss. This one was GREAT, especially for a lighter yellow creme. It built up nicely and had a great dry time. Pretty much heaven of the yellow polish world, y'all.

Wet n Wild Megalast Green Tease

Green Tease is a minty, light green creme polish. This isn't my favorite. I don't know why. I don't know if I'm burnt out on light green cremes or what's wrong with me... because this is a very nice shade of light green! I think it might be because it's very, very similar to a green in the Spring 2015 Collection, Tree Hugger. This one is a smidge brighter, but not by much. However, I do have an urge to stamp over this one though.

I did 2 coats of Green Tease. The application was like the others, very easy to work with and opaque. I didn't have any issues with dry time either.

Wet n Wild Megalast Sky Me Mine

Last, but not least, is Sky Me Mine. I'm in love with this color. This is a bright sky blue creme polish. In the bottle I wasn't too excited about it, but once I swatched it I fell in love. I have it on my toes right now and I can't stop staring at my freakin' feet. It's gorgeous and such a fun shade of blue!

I did 2 coats of Sky Me Mine. This one had a nice, opaque, easy to work with formula. I can't complain about the dry time either, it was also awesome.

If I had to choose between the Spring 2015 and Summer 2015 Collection... I pick the Summer 2015 polishes. I enjoyed the colors, formulas and opacity of these polishes more. Total win in my book. This collection is great if you love opaque creme polishes!

Still really confused about this whole "gel" polish receipt thing and the $1 more price point. I don't feel like these polishes were any different than other Megalast formulas. I'm wearing it on my toes... so I guess that could be a wear test? LOL I know I complained about the brushes in the Spring 2015 polishes being funky. Thankfully, all the bristles on these polishes behaved and weren't all over the place, MUCH easier to use.

If you're on the hunt for or you've found any of these polishes, be sure to stop by Nouveau Cheap, she has a product sighting map!

XOXO,
I bought this myself. Is that good enough for you, Federal Trade Commission?

  1. I am loving this collection, I just love bright polishes, lol. I'm so sad they weren't apart of the $1 off though. xD
