#CURELSKINCARE: Itch Defense Instant Soothing Moisturizing Spray & Body Wash

Curel Itch Defense Instant Soothing Moisturizing Spray
and Body Wash

Hey guys! Today I have a short review of some new items from Curel via Influenster. They recently came out with an Itch Defense Moisturizing Spray and Body Wash. If you don't know, I suffer from eczema on my hands and my feet (and from time to time other spots on my body). I do phototherapy treatments twice a week, but sometimes that isn't enough and it can dry out my skin. I was excited to give these two products a try, especially the spray since it has the National Eczema Association seal!

Check out my review after the jump :]

Curel Itch Defense Instant Soothing Moisturizing Spray
$8.99 at Target

The Itch Defense Instant Soothing Moisturizing Spray (say that 5 times fast) "instantly cools, calms, and soothes dry, itchy skin while helping to improve skin’s natural moisture barrier". I use spray lotions quite often, but I find they're usually a little on the thin side. I really enjoyed this one because it had a little substance and staying power to it. I also enjoyed the light orange oil scent it had, quite refreshing!

As for itch soothing: My flare ups are 90% of the time on my hands and feet. My usual method of stopping the itch is to run my hands under piping hot water, "burn the itch off" as I say, plus a heavy moisturizer, which usually works. When my hands or feet started to itch I sprayed some of the Moisturizing Spray on those parts. I didn't see a difference, they still itched like hell and it just felt like a heavy layer on top of the itch. I'll stick to hot water.

Like I said earlier, I do phototherapy sessions 2x a week. While those sessions do work, they can also dry out your skin very quickly. I have been applying this spray after each session and it moisturizes my skin better than my usual spray lotion. If I repurchase, it will be strictly for moisture, not itch.

Curel Itch Defense Body Wash
$7.99 at Walgreen's

This is the Itch Defense Body Wash, it is a "soap-free formula is a unique blend of gentle cleansers and skin conditioners that creates a rich lather to gently cleanse and soothe itchy skin". With eczema it's super easy to dry out your skin. "Normal" body washes aren't usually an option because they back fire. This soap free body wash is a great replacement for your usual body wash!

I love that it smelled nice, not medicinal, with the same orange oil scent as the spray. I'm not sure if it did anything about preventing my itchy skin. *shrugs* I did LOVE LOVE LOVE that it cleansed my skin without making it disgustingly dry. Very happy with this product and I will go grab a bottle at the store, for sure!
