ZOYA: Holiday/Winter 2015 MatteVelvet Collection [Aspen, Sue, Amal, Honor, Yves, & Iris]

Zoya MatteVelvet Winter 2015 Collection
(L->R) Aspen, Sue, Amal, Honor, Yves, and Iris

HAPPY FRIDAY! Today I'm super stoked to share the 2015 Zoya MatteVelvet Collection with you :D Zoya answered our polish prayers and has whipped up some new matte polishes for us this winter.  There are some new shades and some similar shades to previous MatteVelvets (yes, I have comparisons!). Check these 6 new polishes out after the jump.

Zoya Aspen matte polish

Zoya Aspen is a "sparkling arctic white with a micronized diamond pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish". Want some soft, sparkling, white snow on your nails? Aspen is perfect! It's a pretty polish but I still hate white polish on me lol.

I did 3 coats of Aspen. The application was okay. It applied like most white polishes, a little difficult to build up and even out. Wasn't my favorite application of the bunch. Sorry, Zoya. Try time was just okay as well. I'd wait between coats.

Zoya Sue matte polish

Sue is a "soft champagne gold with a multi-hued oyster shell pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish". I think this would be a great color for the holidays coming up because it's sparkly and magical. As much as I love this pretty polish, it doesn't agree with my skin tone and turns my hands lobster.

I did 3 coats of Sue. Application was better than Aspen, easy to work with and even out as you build it up. Dry time was still just okay, not impressed.

Zoya Amal matte polish

Let's get into some color! This is Amal (George Clooney's wife? Also, first glance at the label I totes read "anal" LOL!!), a "classic crimson red with a ruby red pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish". This is a very nice, flattering red matte. It's bright and bold but soft at the same time.

I compared it to Zoya's other red matte, Posh. As you can see Amal is much brighter and you can see more flecks than shimmer. Very different matte polishes! Unfortunately, Posh is no longer for sale on Zoya's website.

I did 2 coats of Amal. This was more opaque than the other lighter polishes above. It also dried pretty freakin' quickly. I can't complain. This is the formula I expect from Zoya ;]

Zoya Honor matte polish

Zoya Veruschka matte (left) VS Honor matte polish (right)

YAAAASSSSS ZOYA YAAAASSSSSS. Honor is a "true emerald green with a tone on tone emerald pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish". This is my favorite shade of green. It's so elegant and and super lush! The flecks aren't as prominent in Honor as in Amal, but that's ok.

I compared Honor to Veruschka above. Nottttt sure why Veruschka dried so shiny... but you get the color difference. Honor is slightly lighter than Veruschka. Again, you can see the glitter difference.

I did 2 coats of Honor. The formula was excellent. It was much like Amal - smooth application, opaque formula, and bomb dry time. No complaints about the application. Just a note, I did experience some slight staining with this one after 5-10 mins of wear.

Zoya Yves matte polish

Up next, Yves - "deep sapphire that's midway in between indigo and royal blue with a blue pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish". Dear Zoya God, thank you for making this gorgeous deep, dark sparkly, midnight blue MATTE polish. Amen and THANK YOU. This color is stunning. The only thing I'd do differently is add a little silver sparkle ;]

I did 2 coats of Yves. Like the last two polishes, Yves had a great formula. It was easy to build up and dried quickly. If you buy any of these - buy this one haha.

Zoya Iris matte polish

Zoya Savita matte (left) Iris matte polish (right)

Iris is a "deep amethyst with a fuchsia pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish". I thought I was going to love this one, since I'm on a purple kick in 2015, but I was underwhelmed :-\ Pretty shade of purple, but just doesn't get me excited haha.

I compared the other Zoya purple matte, Savita, and Iris. Sorry Iris, Savita has you beat. Savita is gorgeous and there's no competition haha.

I did 3 coats of Iris. Although the formula was similar to the red, blue, and green above, it really needed coat #3 to even it out. Thankfully the dry time was awesome and the 3rd coat wasn't an issue at all. :]
