Zoya Whispers Collection (L->R) April, Cala, Misty, Ireland, Lake, and Eastyn |
Long time no swatch, eh? It's that time of year... the awkward point between Winter and Spring collections! Making them less awkward are Zoya's Transitional collections, combing neutrals with a drop of color to make the season shift a little smoother. I can hear the echos of those who love neutrals are rejoicing! LOL Check out the Whispers Collection for Transition 2016 after the jump ;]
Zoya April |
Zoya April |
Zoya April is a "rosy toned neutral that is a modern take on blush". This is a creme polish. When I need a palate cleanser, this is the shade of nail polish I usually grab. I don't love it, I don't like it, and I don't have it - it's just a nice polish haha.
I did 3 coats of April. Application was great and built up nicely. Dry time was good, HEAPS better than most light pink neutral polishes.
Zoya Cala |
Zoya Cala |
Zoya Cala is a creme polish described as a "soft nude with a kiss of warmth that will flatter most skin tones". Vanilla nude is the first description that comes to mind (besides the one from the website lmao). It's blah to me, I don't like the yellow tones in it so I wouldn't wear it on it's own. I'd totally stamp or do art over this... not that I've done any recently.
I did 2 coats of Cala. Didn't expect this to be as opaque as it was, but a nice surprise. Dry time was great and didn't cause me any problems.
Zoya Misty |
Zoya Misty |
Zoya Misty is an "easy to wear taupe that is an updated version of gray with just a touch of green to make it daring". This is one of those ugly, love to hate, type of colors. It's very putty-esque. I'm on the fence, but I don't like how it looks on me. *shrugs* Would you wear it?
I did 3 coats of Misty. Like the others, I didn't have any issues with application - it was smooth and easy to work with. Dry time was great.
Zoya Ireland |
Zoya Ireland |
Zoya Ireland is a green creme polish that is "well balanced between blue and yellow so it's flattering on all skin tones". I like green and I like this green. It's a nice green polish that is wearable and isn't too in your face like most green polishes can be... at least the ones I like are LOL!
I did 3 coats of Ireland. Like the other polishes, the formula was easy to work with and it became opaque easily in 3 coats. No issues with dry time.
Zoya Lake |
Zoya Lake |
Zoya Lake is a creme polish, a "softened blue that gives the effect of serene water with just a hint of vibrancy". I love these greyed out blues. They don't always get along with the redness in my skin hahah but I still love them! Like Ireland, Lake is a great way to add some color without being overpowering.
I did 2 coats of Lake. A little repetitive here, but I didn't have any application issues with this polish. Application was easy to work with and build up in 2 thin coats. Dry time was awesome, pretty quick.
Zoya Eastyn |
Zoya Eastyn |
Zoya Eastyn is the type of polish I expect in a transitional/neutral collection - a "subtle grayed grape" creme. IMHO - I like mauves more haha but that's just me ;] However, I do like this color against my skintone. I might have to wear it to work next week!
I did 2 coats of Eastyn. We're 6 for 6, no issues with application or dry time. All of these polishes, including Eastyn are formulas I've come to know and love from Zoya.
I can't wait for Spring colors, but I guess these will do for now ;] Top picks for this collection are Lake and April. For uniqueness I'd go for Eastyn and Ireland. What 2 are your favorites?!
Happy Friday!
I'm on the fence about this collection. I am a fan of neutrals and a big Zoya fan....but I do not like neutrals that give me "mannequin hands" and I am not a fan of polish bordering on gray-just a personal preference. Ireland is nice though, and I would be tempted to try April due to the rose tone.
