NAILS INC: Paint Can - Spray Can Nail Polish in Hoxton Market & Shoreditch Lane

Nails Inc Paint Can - Spray Can Nail Polish in Hoxton Market
and 2 in 1 Base and Top Coat

Hey, there! I'm sure you've all heard of this new innovation in the nail polish world - spray on nail polish. If you haven't, this is some pretty neat stuff! Nails Inc sent me their Paint Can spray on nail polish in Hoxton Market and 2 in 1 Base and Top Coat. This spray on nail polish is meant to be applied quickly and wear for 2 days.

Check out the process, swatches, wear, and thoughts of Paint Can (in both pink and silver) after the jump!

The very first step of this process is to protect the area you're working on. I did this on my kitchen counter. I set up four sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 printer paper side by side... that was hardly enough LOL I found a light spray of polish beyond the square of paper. Luckily, it was easy to wipe off the counter with a paper towel. Not so luckily, it wasn't easy to get off my husband's wallet bahahhaha in fact, silver glitter is still on it :P

Next step, apply the 2 in 1 Base and Top Coat. This base/top coat is a little on the thicker side but is easy to apply and dries WICKED fast. I applied one coat carefully. Pretty much wherever you want the paint, apply the base coat.

I assume you can use other types of base coats because their website suggests spraying the polish over old polish for a quick change.

Spray on the polish about 6 inches away from your nails. Try to spray it on as evenly as possible. An arch shape around the finger in a quick motion seemed to be the best way to apply the polish for me. It allowed an even coverage while getting every side of my nail. Be careful NOT to concentrate the polish in an area too much, or go back over a missed spot, while it's still wet... it will crack or start to bubble (lesson learned).

Allow the spray polish to dry. Then, apply your top coat. In my case, I applied the 2 in 1 Base and Top Coat again.

Once the top coat is totally dry, wash the excess polish off with warm water and soap. To be honest, I thought it would be more difficult to wash away. It was pretty easy and didn't require any hard rubbing or scrubbing. I probably washed it all off in 15-30 seconds.

While I tried to be careful applying the base and top coat (which is what keeps the spray polish on your nails), it wasn't totally perfect haha. I decided to clean up my mani with a brush and acetone.

After the polish was cleaned up along the sides, my nails looked AWESOME! This hot pink, semi-shimmery nail polish is gorgeous (and hard to photograph). There were a few tiny bubbles, some seemed to disappear the next day and some stuck around like the one on my ring finger haha.

My sister actually got me the Shoreditch Lane, a metallic silver, for my birthday! Figured I'd include a swatch/review of it, too :] I LOVE this color so much.

Although the macro looks like glitter particles... they were actually tiny bubbles. I was kind of bummed out about them, but it wasn't too painfully obvious. As imagined, this was kind of a pain to clean up with a brush due to the shimmer. However for being as shimmery a it was, it washed off very cleanly.

THE FINAL VERDICT:

Nails Inc Paint Can - Spray Can Nail Polish wear results

You guys...The website claims 2 days of wear with top coat. The wear you see above is LESS than 24 hours of wear. I applied Hoxton Market at 9PM Thursday night. By 9AM Friday morning, the polish popped off 2 of my nails and there were some chipping on some of the tips and sides. By 2PM, 2 more popped off. By the time I got home from work at 5PM, I was down to 5 out of 10 polished nails remaining. *sigh* I didn't even wash my hair! LOL I sealed the tips and everything :[

The silver didn't even last as long as the pink. I applied at 7PM Sunday night. And by 9PM I had hardcore chipping on the tips of my nails despite sealing the tips of my nails... I woke up at 6AM and I was missing 2 nails. (What the HELL was I doing in my sleep?!) I removed the polish before heading into work.

I was so excited about how easy this process was and was already hoping for more colors. Now I don't even want more colors... I'm wondering if another base coat or top coat would of worked better. If I should of buffed my nails a little bit prior to applying the base coat. Or is it related to how thin the spray polish's formula is? I don't know. This is just a huge bummer to me...

What do y'all think of this Paint Can spray on nail polish? I feel like I'm going to keep trying until i can get this to work, but a part of me feels like I'll never get it to work HAHA! In the end this is a GREAT option if you need to polish some nails in a flash for an event or something.

The Paint Cans retail for $12 each. I feel like I could get 4-5 manicures out of each can

Have you tried Nails Inc Paint Can? How long did it last? Or have you tried a different brand of spray polish? I'm curious if it semi-sucks for everyone or if it's user error.
