Holiday Snow Nail Art

Holiday Snow Nail Art

I haven't been able to get the idea of a sponged on snow "French manicure" layered with a ton of different glitters out of my head, so I finally did it. I really wasn't feeling green or red this year for some reason. I can't decide if this looks like a magical, sparkling snow day (I've never had a snow day soooo I'm just guessing here LOL) or a pretty, glittery snow globe!

Macro Shot: Holiday Snow Nail Art

I applied a light base coat of Finger Paints Sparkle Top Coat (a super oldie but a goodie iridescent micro glitter in a clear base) and then lightly sponged on the "tips" with Zoya Snow White. I actually ran out of makeup sponges I used for nail art after 8 years, so I reached for a regular 'ol dish sponge. I think the pore size of the dish sponge actually made it look more like snow than a makeup sponge would have created, which is more apt for a more solid nail art look. I think the dish sponge created the light and fluffy look I was going for.

Next, I haphazardly and lightly layered on scattered silver holographic top coat: Hungry Asian Dream Car. Then I layered on Essie As Gold As It Gets (a clear base packed with small gold flakies, I highly recommend this polish if you can still get your hands on it!) followed by Zoya Dallas ("clear base with silver glitter, large white hexagonal glitter, and small white glitter running throughout").

I think the combo of all those glitter toppers makes it JUST busy enough to make it visually interesting without being over the top. This nail art idea also looked great without the glitter top coats too.

Happy Holidays, y'all!
